September: Back to Basics - Building foundation through Tapas
What We Offer
Back to Basics: Building foundation through Tapas
This September, return to routine and cultivate unwavering physical and mental stability. Strong enough to stay grounded, yet open enough to move with change.
Core Principle: Strength Meets Freedom
True physical and mental freedom is built from an unshakeable foundation. As the season transitions, we dedicate September to the fiery discipline of Tapas—consistency, resilience, and conscious effort. Our practice focuses on two core pillars:
Stability: Building unwavering core strength through planks, leg lifts, and diaphragmatic breathing. This is your center, your root.
Freedom: Cultivating lower body mobility through dynamic Sūkṣma Vyāyāma and sustained standing postures (Vīrabhadrāsana sequence). This is your adaptability, your openness to change.
Through this balanced approach, we train ourselves to remain steady and strong, allowing us to meet life's shifts with ease.
Note: Due to Kailash yatra, September morning ET classes are paused. We appreciate your flexibility.
What to Expect in Class
The Flow
Our sessions follow a traditional and purposeful sequence to maximize your heart opening and mental clarity:
Sukshma Vyayamas (Subtle Exercises): Gentle, micro-movements targeting the joints and small muscles. This practice removes energy blockages, improves circulation, and prepares the body for deeper movement.
Surya Namaskars (Sun Salutations): A dynamic sequence of 12 poses that serves as a full-body workout, boosting cardiovascular health while stretching and toning every major muscle group.
Asanas (Postures): We stick to the traditional asanas listed in Hatha Yoga Pradipika and few more traditional asanas curated from ancient literature.
Pranayama : Corrects breathing pattern, expanding chest and lung capacity, Massages vagus nerve, tones the nervous system.
Dharana (One-pointed Awareness): We conclude each session by practicing the "sixth limb of yoga"—binding the mind to a single point of focus. This trains the mind to remain steady, quiet, and deeply present long after you leave the mat.

Here’s what people say…..
“A week and a half into this matness, my shoulder with the torn rotator cuff is feeling pretty stable; the achiness from injuries to my right side is almost gone; two years of grief and exhaustion from the illness and death of my husband is gentling down, and even sparkles of joy and smarana flash forth again. More gratitude than I can say.”
-Ipek Kursat
“Thanks to the teachers and organizing team for this motivation. I had discontinued Yoga due to an injury few months back and was scared to start again. With the gentle motivation, I started with the matness. I’m glad I did. I’m gaining my confidence back. This is something I look forward to every morning.”
