Blossom Yoga Center was launched in 2022 by Sri M to teach authentic Yoga.

BYC’s teachings are rooted in Patanjali’s Yoga philosophy and are directed towards calming the mind and getting it ready for going beyond the three dimensional conditioned state. Yoga is not just achieving complex poses, but is an internal state of mind for which the various poses and breathing techniques are done.

A healthy mind starts with a healthy body. Charaka Samhita states sharīra mādhyaṁ khalu dharma sādhanam [v11] — “the body is the vehicle for engaging in spiritual activity.”

Hence, the body must be maintained with good health and the subtle channels in the body have to be cleaned in order to progress to a state of unruffled mind—even amidst the presence of external and internal stimuli.

Our Founder

Sri M, born Mumtaz Ali in Kerala, had a profound encounter with his Himalayan master Sri Maheshwarnath Babaji at the age of nine, who a decade later initiated him into the Nath tradition in the Himalayas and influenced his lifelong mission to share ancient wisdom in a modern world.

What sets Sri M apart is his belief that spirituality demands action. From walking 7,500 kilometers across India for unity to founding schools rooted in academics and values, he exemplifies a spirituality rooted in how we live and serve others.

He rarely presents himself as a guru, saying: “A true guru does not want you to be dependent on anybody. He wants you ultimately to flower, become free and not to bind you even to himself.”

His teachings bridge religious, social, and philosophical divides, focusing on meditation, kindness, rationality, and education.

As he says: “A minute of kindness is more precious than a hundred years of intense austerities.”

Through the Blossom Foundation and other initiatives, his message is simple: awaken within, act with love and courage, and remember the oneness we all share.
