The Kids Yoga course aims to introduce children to the authentic teachings of Yoga at an early age. A holistic Yoga practice started early in a child’s life, and practiced regularly, can bring about better physical and mental health, a calmer mind and thereby greater focus and increased self-awareness.

“ I joined the class since gymnastics has always interested me. During this class, you will learn many things, such as asanas, breathing techniques, and theory on the history of yoga. While doing and uncomfortable asana, I strongly suggest that you focus on your breath, and don’t think about the uncomfortable feeling. These practices will improve your health, and mind. For example, you will learn how to improve your posture by asking you to sit with and straight back.

CLASS INFORMATION
Children between 8-14 years of age are eligible for the course. Level 1 and Level 2 classes are offered as 3-month courses each. Classes are offered online via zoom twice a week.
LEVEL 1 KIDS YOGA
This program is suited for children who express an interest in learning Yoga, or for parents who wish to introduce their children to Yoga. Designed in an engaging style to get children to enjoy their first interaction with Yoga. The course introduce children to:
Surya Namaskar (Sun salutations)
Yoga Asanas (postures)
Pranayama (breathing practices)
Yamas & Niyamas (rules & regulations in our daily lives)
By the end of the course, the child will have learnt foundational yoga techniques to integrate into a regular personal practice.

LEVEL 2 KIDS YOGA
This program builds on our level 1 course. Students will need to complete Level 1 course in order to sign up for Level 2. Level 2 will focus on covering select parts of the Hatha Pradipika and will cover:
History of Hatha Yoga, contribution by Nath Yogis
Purpose of Hatha Yoga
Yamas & Niyamas
Asanas
Introduction to Yogic Diet
Pranayama
Nadis, their impurities, and cleaning
Introduction to Shatkarmas (cleansing practices)
